VIP International Plastic Surgery Center in KOREA - Face Fat Graft

What is autologous fat transplantation?

It refers to an aesthetic procedure, in which extra fat in one part of your body is taken and transplanted to other areas devoid
of fat to achieve good volume and shape. Though the procedure has a long history, it is only recently that it started to be
widely used for aesthetic purposes. One of the reasons is that the volume created by fat transplantation does not last long and sometimes the fat invades into blood vessels, causing serious side effects.

In the past, silicone or collagen injection was used to fill the depressed areas, but this caused serious side effects
Fortunately, there are now more advanced procedures and materials available with a higher rate of biological fixing and few side effects, producing good effects that could not be expected in the past.

From the mid 20s, the skin starts to lose elasticity and the fat distribution on the face starts to change, causing the forehead,
temple or cheeks to be depressed. Autologous fat transplantation allows you to fill the depressed areas and hide protruding cheekbones. Recent research reveals that the fat tissue contains stem cells,
which give more volume to the depressed areas, making the skin more elastic and brighten it up with better colors.
Recent autologous fat transplantation can be called a ‘face renovation procedure’ as it makes your face look healthier and voluminous.

Why can autologous fat transplantation
be a procedure to ensure an ideal face and body?
No side effects occur because it is your own tissue.
Foreign objects in your body can cause a granulomatous disease or inflammation. But autologous fat is your own tissue and therefore does not cause such problems.

No scar is visible on the operation area.
Fat transplantation uses a thin instrument, which does not require a wide incision. The incision takes place on areas like naval, thus leaving few scars.
Fat transplantation contains stem cells, which can improve your skin tone, color and elasticity.
The fat transplanted contains a lot of stem cells, and thus provides an effect of filling the depressed areas, as well as rejuvenating the skin.

The volume and shape are maintained for a long time with a one-time procedure./td>
The procedure is performed in a way that the transplanted fat stays as long as it can. Therefore, only a one-time procedure can ensure long-lasting effects.

The procedure is simple and allows quick return to the normal life.

A one-time procedure can address multiple areas.
Asymmetric faces or protruding cheekbones can be corrected without a surgery.

Fat in the fat-abundant areas, including the lower abdomen and thighs, is taken and transplanted to other areas devoid of it, thus improving the body line.

If the initial procedure fails to produce desirable results, it can be corrected with another procedure.
When is autologous fat transplantation needed?

VIP’s autologous fat transplantation enhances biological fixing rate and minimizes side effects. It also allows
natural correction of any abnormal areas.

01.
Those with a lot of fat in the abdomen or thighs
Micro fat transplantation moves extra fat in one part of the body to another devoid of it. Therefore, those who have a lot of fat in the abdomen or thighs can use this procedure to reduce fat in those areas and transplant the removed fat into other areas.

02.
Those who are concerned about implants
People who want to get a plastic surgery but are concerned about the implants can use this method. Syringes, silicone, Gore-tex and others can be used in the nose, chin and forehead.

03.
Those who want natural results
This procedure is particularly good for those who want the results to look natural. There will be no feeling of abnormality when the swelling goes away because it uses autologous tissue.
Side effects

VIP’s

autologous fat transplantation enhances biological fixing rate and minimizes side effects.
It also allows natural correction of any abnormal areas. There is a very low possibility of side effects as the procedure uses
autologous tissue. In case of any problems, it can be solved using autologous tissue.

Bruise Bruises can emerge on both areas from which fat was taken and to which it was transplanted.
Some people have severer bruises, but they all disappear in a week or so.
Inflammation Inflammation can emerge on the transplanted area,
which can be cured with antibiotics.
Lumps There can be lumps felt in the transplanted area while the fat is biologically fixed.
These do not cause any problem, but a shot of steroid can remove them with ease.
Transplantation process
The area that needs transplantation is marked with design ink.

An anesthetic is injected into the blood vesse.<bt>After the shot, you will be asleep for five minutes, during which local anesthesia is performed. At this time, the anti-swelling agent is administered as well. When the local anesthesia is completed, you wake up and stay awake throughout the operation.

Fat is taken from the fat abundant areas such as your abdomen or thigh. A thin tube is inserted into the selected area to extract fat
The extracted fat is set upright and waits at a room temperature until the impurities settle down.

Molding work is performed after fat transplantation to make a smooth outline. This is done by pushing the area that has received fat in an attempt to make it spread evenly.

Post-surgical care/precautions

Do not walk or exercise intensely right after the surgery. Otherwise you can suffer from bruises or swelling.

Do not open your mouth too wide or laugh out if you got fat transplantation on your cheeks. This can prevent biological fixing of the fat.

Makeup is allowed right after the surgery, but washing your face can be done from the next day. Do not place too much strength on your hands when washing your face.

Do not sleep on your stomach or put your hands on the areas of operation. This may cause deformation or
poor fixing of the fat.

Abstain from smoking and drinking for at least a week. Alcohol can cause infection on the area of transplantation and smoking can interrupt blood circulation so that biological fixing can be prevented.

Do not massage or press your face for about a month. This can cause deformation..

Forehead

A nice and thick forehead can make the face look perspective and thus slimmer. The reason why Caucasians do not look weird with high-bridged noses is that there is a harmonious balance between the raised forehead and deep eyes. For Asians, heightening the nose without touching the forehead can ruin the overall balance of the face.

T-zone fat transplantation method, which heightens the depressed forehead and smoothly connect it to the nose, is effective for those who do not like implants or who want a simple procedure. It is also good for those who want to improve protruding irregularities around the eyebrows.

Cheek

Young people’s cheeks are full and attractive with elasticity. As you get older, fat is lost, leaving wrinkles in its place.

Loss of cheek fat due to aging can cause you to look older than you are. Transferring fat to the cheeks can smooth out wrinkles and make you look younger.

Temple

The temple consists of muscles and fat. When it is depressed due to aging or excessive weight loss, you look as if you have a narrow forehead or protruding cheekbones. If you lose more weight due to aging, your overall appearance can deteriorate.

Fat transplantation to the temple can restore the depressed area, making the upper part of the face look more distinct and the part under the eyebrows look smaller. The heightened temple can push up the droopy eyebrows and the edges of the eyes.

Middle of the forehead

- Effective for deep wrinkles between the eyebrows
- Where there is still depression after Botox procedure

Nasolabial wrinkles

In principle, nasolabial wrinkles can be addressed by using both facelift and filler, which fills deep valleys with autologous tissue or synthetic materials like Restylane, AlloDerm and Gore-tex altogether. But micro fat transplantation procedure alone can produce good effects.

Eyes

Addressing depressed eyes using micro fat transplantation does not require recovery time at all because it only uses syringes.
It can be applied to those with large double eyelid lines.

Dark circle

-Dark circles appear when the fat beneath the eyes bulges and the part immediately under them is depressed.
This can be addressed by removing excessive fat inside the eyes.
-Dark circles also appear when the bone beneath the eyes retract due to aging or for genetic reasons.
This can be cured by means of autologous fat transplantation.
-Veins that are seen through under the eyes can be cured with a surgery.

Nose

No side effect is expected because no implant is used for this procedure. The procedure itself if very simple since only syringe is used without incision. This also allows quick return to the normal life and leaves no scar.

Chin

- When the chin is not noticeable
- When the chin is short
- When you want make the tip of the chin to bulge

Lips

Thin lips can make you look deprived, cold or sometimes mean. That is why many people want to make their lips full.

  - Depression of the lips
- Asymmetry of the lips
- Too thin lips
- Excessive difference in the size between the upper and the lower lips
- The shorter upper lip cannot fully cover the lower lip
- Lips with too many wrinkles

Noble surgery

This refers to heightening the central part of the face or the part around the nose. It is intended to make the face look more in perspective and stylish. The procedure got its nickname because the changes make you look noble.

The most commonly used implant is silicone. Gore-tex and Madpore are also widely used. Procedures using these implants need general anesthesia, but fat transplantation can be performed with localized anesthesia.
